Grand Rapids Art Museum

"The first new art museum in the world to receive the LEED certification Gold"

Grand Rapids Art Museum was designed and built as an art museum and as a central civic place for the city. This underlies the spatial qualities and transition from the grand urban scale to the intimate art viewing scale throughout the building, from outdoor to indoor, from park to tiny alcoves. While the building does not scream for attention, it serves as an urban sculpture in its own right, rich with the both the understated, timeless principles of environmental sensibility along with the modern technologies of green building.
